DAYLIGHT ACADEMIC FORUM FOR PH.D. STUDENTS, NOVEMBER 18, 2021
Speakers
We are happy to invite daylight research Ph.D. students to the 6th VELUX Daylight Academic Forum and we will host it online.
What is the VELUX Daylight Academic Forum?
VELUX Daylight Academic Forum is a one-day event addressed to Ph.D. students working with daylight research. It is held together with an invited panel of leading scientific experts and provides Ph.D. students with an opportunity to present their study to experienced researchers and fellow students, discuss it and receive relevant insights for further project development. The aim is to raise discussion of research objectives and methodologies for Ph.D. students studying daylighting and related issues. You can get an additional insight into the previous Academic Forum events and the LumeNet, with a focus on general lighting in alternate years.
Why do you need to participate?
This year as in previous events you will have individual presentations of each research project in smaller groups, as well as constructive discussions with scientific experts providing you with valuable feedback and guidance.
“I will like to highlight the challenge that the Academic Forum represented for me, beforehand, as a first year PhD student, but how insightful it turned from the very first moment we started sharing knowledge and research experiences between candidates” Victoria Eugenia Soto Magán
What will you gain?
- More confidence in your work
- Answers related to your research
- New ideas and valuable feedback for your research development
- Expanded network within your area
- Inspiration from fellow PhD student
“I really enjoyed the Forum …The worse thing was that I didn’t present my work and get valuable feedback” Jing Lu

“Unlike traditional conferences that focus on the results of research, the Daylight Academic Forum focus on how to conceptualize, implement, and disseminate research, within a format of small discussion groups, where the students present their research proposals to a pair of senior researchers, with ample time for critical review and discussion”.
