Self-employed Architect and Co-founder

<p>Renate Hammer is a self-employed architect. She founded the Institute of Building Research &amp; Innovation (ibri) in 2013 together with Peter Holzer as a private institution for application-oriented research in the field of sustainable building. Previously, she was Dean of the Faculty of Education, Art and Architecture at Danube University Krems (DUK), where she established the Light Laboratory of the Department of Building and Environment (DBU) with a corresponding range of courses. Her work pursues the goal of anchoring scientifically sound findings regarding the human need for daylight in the daily practice of architects and building executives. Towards this objective, she currently lectures at the University of Art and Industrial Design Linz (ufg) and the University of Applied Science Campus Vienna (FH Campus Wien) and is involved in The Austrian and European standardization.</p>
