Transformation Through Partnership

The Transformative Partnership Approach is a key concept that underpins the Living Places concept.

This form of partnering shifts away from the usual linear approach that does not allow for effectively building on and sharing ideas. Instead of each link working in their respective silos, transformative partnering allows all partners to work together from the start, opening channels between them so that everybody’s ideas can flow back and forth each step of the way.

Transformative partnering democratises the knowledge stream and ensures that all partners share an equal voice throughout the whole collaborative process. This way of collaborating means that everyone is willing to listen to each other because everyone recognises that others possess knowledge that they do not have.

It results in a ‘ripple effect’ that extends beyond building a house and prompts a wider movement, a new way of thinking about building design, fostering widespread solutions and creating ambassadors beyond initial partners.
