How will we live together in the future? Join us, to see how we can live together across generations when the exhibition "Neighbourhoods for Generations" presents the four winning projects from Landbyggefondens (The National Building Fund) international ideas competition of the same name. The exhibition is held in relation to Copenhagen becoming the 2023 UNESCO Capital of Architecture and the architectural congress UIA, taking place in Copenhagen during the summer.

The demographics in our society are changing rapidly in these years. Declining birth rates, higher life expectancy and more people moving to the big cities are forcing us to rethink the way we live together. The exhibition "Neighbourhoods for Generations" presents innovative housing solutions that can meet future challenges.

The goal of "Neighbourhoods for Generations" is to create neighbourhoods tailored to the different generations’ needs and provide opportunities to meet each other in daily life and create stronger local communities. The ideas inspire and contribute with new knowledge on how to create sustainable homes and neighbourhoods, that are both flexible, robust, and scalable, so they can meet the modern cohabitation of the future.

The winning ideas range from integrated care services, moving chains, and food circularity to new frameworks for collaboration in affordable housing areas. All projects have roots in architecture and rethink the neighbourhood’s cohesion in the physical, social, informal, and institutional space.

The exhibition takes place at the Living Places from the 29th of June to the 31st of October.

The exhibition is free and open to all.
